UNCW Esports Classes
Description
UNCW offers two certificates and a minor that have a gaming focus. At the undergraduate level we have the Esports Performance and Management Certificate and a Game Engineering Minor. At the graduate level we offer the Esports Performance, Management, & Leadership, Post-Baccalaureate Certificate. See descriptions for both esports certificate below. Undergraduate Program
Esports Performance & Management Certificate (Fully Online)
15 credits
All undergrad students can enroll. There is no order of courses.
Required courses:
- MIT 470 - Introduction to Gaming and Esports
- MIT 472 - Streaming audio and video for Esports and Gaming
- MIT 473 - Esports Media and Content (*MIT 473 counts as a University Studies Information Literacy Course)
Then choose 2 courses (6 credits) from the following:
Esports:
- MIT 498 - Gaming and Esports Performance and Practice Internship
- MIT 476 - Esports and Gaming Capstone
- MIT 150- Game Theory (This course is part of our Game Engineering minor)
Marketing:
- MKT 340 - Principles of Marketing

Communication:
